On May 22, 2025, Microsoft unveiled a powerful new feature in Microsoft 365 Copilot called the Agent Store — a centralized hub for AI-powered “agents” designed to handle specific tasks, reduce repetitive work, and enhance workplace productivity.

What Is Agent Store?
Agent Store is a curated library of AI assistants — or “agents” — built to perform specialized tasks such as data management, automated coordination, or document analysis within an organization.Users can search for, install, and try out these agents directly from Microsoft 365 Copilot.
The agents in the store are created by Microsoft, partners, and even other users who share their agents for broader use.
Why Is Agent Store Exciting?
Unlike general-purpose Copilot features, each agent in the Agent Store is designed for a specific function — for example, answering questions based on internal data or automating defined workflows.
Key highlights include:
Over 70 agents available at launch
Smart recommendations and search, based on user behavior
Accessible to both licensed and unlicensed Microsoft 365 Copilot users
Compatible with Microsoft 365 apps, including Teams and the web platform m365copilot.com
For Developers and Partners
The Agent Store also opens doors for developers and partners to build and publish their own agents.
Developers can create agents using:
Low-code tools, minimizing the need for extensive coding
Full-code development, through tools like:
Microsoft Copilot Studio
Microsoft 365 Agents Toolkit
Once published, agents are discoverable across multiple Microsoft 365 platforms, and developers gain access to usage analytics and user feedback.
What’s Next?
Microsoft plans to enhance the Agent Store with:
Smarter recommendation systems
Deeper integration with Microsoft 365 apps
Broader access for developers to reach new user segments
A New Era of Intelligent Workflows
Agent Store is a major advancement in Microsoft 365 Copilot, offering a unified platform for specialized AI assistants. It helps streamline work, automate tasks, and empowers both everyday users and developers to leverage AI more effectively. This marks another milestone in transforming the way we work in the AI-driven era.
